• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Product Owner, or similar data-focused role.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into enterprise-scale data requirements.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms, data dictionaries, and governance.

• Lead elicitation, analysis, and documentation of data-related business requirements for enterprise data initiatives.
• Translate business needs into data elements, metrics, hierarchies, transformations, and access patterns.
• Own and maintain the enterprise data dictionary and business glossary.
• Collaborate with Data Architects and Data Engineering to reflect requirements in data models, integrations, and pipelines.
• Document end-to-end data flows and lineage from source systems to downstream consumers.
• Serve as liaison between business stakeholders and data delivery teams to resolve definition conflicts.
• Support backlog refinement and prioritization to ensure actionable requirements for development.
• Identify and remediate data quality and governance issues.
• Support regulated fintech and financial services use cases with auditability and sensitive data handling.

Section 1: Position Summary

TheSenior Business Systems Analyst (Data Platform) partners with business stakeholders, product leadership, data architects, and data engineering teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable data requirements. This role serves as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring the enterprise data platform is a trusted, governed source of truth.

The Senior BSA leads data requirements definition across data models, integrations, pipelines, and consumption layers, with a strong focus on data definitions, metrics, lineage, and usability within a regulated financial services environment.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead theelicitation, analysis, and documentation of data‑related business requirementsfor enterprise data initiatives
• Translate business needs intoclear, data‑specific requirements, including data elements, metrics, hierarchies, transformations, and access patterns
• Own andmaintainthe enterprise data dictionary and business glossary, ensuring consistency and alignment across teams
• Partner closely withData Architects and Data Engineeringto ensure requirements are accurately reflected in data models, integrations, and pipelines
• Documentend‑to‑end data flows and lineage, from source systems to downstream consumers
• Serve as theprimary liaison between business stakeholders and data delivery teams, resolving definition conflicts and clarifying requirements
• Supportbacklog refinement and prioritization, ensuring requirements are complete and actionable prior to development
• Identifyand help remediatedata quality, consistency, and access issues
• Reinforcedata governance standards, documentation practices, and approved access methods
• Participate in design reviews, planning sessions, and cross‑functional working groups
• Supportregulated fintech and financial services use cases, including auditability, security, and sensitive data handling
• Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

• Minimum 10 yearsof experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Product Owner, or similar data‑focused role
• Proven experience translating business needs intoenterprise‑scale data requirements
• Strong experience with enterprise data platforms, including:
• Oracle (transactional data understanding)
• Cloud data warehouses (Azure preferred)
• ETL / integration tools (Informatica or similar)
• Analytics and reporting consumers
• Demonstrated ownership of a data dictionary and/or business glossary
• Strong understanding ofsource‑of‑truth principles, data consistency, and governance
• Experience partnering withdata architects and engineering teamsin complex environments
• Financial services or fintech experience, including regulated data requirements
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

The national average salary range for this role is$110K-150K in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment. We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case‑by‑case basis.
