Job summary

Allianz Technology seeks a hands-on Data Architect to shape the Allianz Data Platform. You will design scalable data solutions, migrate workloads to Azure, and guide teams on data integration while ensuring security and compliance.

You bring 8–10 years in data architecture, with expertise in Databricks, Azure, AWS, and data governance, and you will mentor junior staff within a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8–10 years experience with five years as a Data Architect or similar role.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, modeling and platform frameworks.
• Proficiency with Azure, AWS and data platform engineering.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data lake/lakehouse and data governance.
• Strong migration, privacy and security skills in data management.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Industry certifications in Databricks, Azure or AWS are desirable.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of data workloads from on-premises to MS Azure Cloud per cloud strategy.
• Design, build, test data architectures for large-scale storage and transfer with security.
• Guide cross-functional teams on data access and integration during transfers or updates.
• Develop data architectures that are scalable, secure and cost-effective.
• Advise customers and teams on data platform capabilities and implementation strategies.
• Create high-performing data services and troubleshoot data issues creatively.
• Collaborate with enterprise/area architects to meet business goals.
• Mentor junior architects and foster a culture of innovation.
• Document designs and maintain compliance with Allianz standards.
• Adhere to best practices in data management to drive efficiency.
• Vet providers and services for storage/compute and document SOPs.
