This includes planning, design, and deployment of new database applications, handling database disaster recovery, server maintenance, and monitor and maintain system health.**Job Description:****Primary Responsibilities:**• Managing and supporting database server deployment and configuration. • Managing and supporting databases High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Security. • Implementing Performance Tuning, Query Optimization and database systems health checks. • Implement databases and servers maintenance and patching • Maintains performance measurement utilities, which support analysis of real time workload, response time and availability, as well as historical data for trend analysis and capacity management. • Works with technical staff to implement database software new releases and upgrades as well as managing the physical structure of the database subsystem. • Participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure database efficiency and maintenance consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. • Collaborates with management and personnel from server, storage, and application support teams, as well as other groups within Information System and the medical center.**Required Qualifications:**• Bachelor's degree required. • 5+ years related work experience required. • 5+ years of experience in database administration and development in MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle databases environments. • Experience in Cloud Database Technology (Snowflake, AWS and MS Azure) • Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, and using Performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools. • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues and security issues. • Documentation skills for processes and procedures ( creating KBs, runbooks, topology etc )**Competencies:**• Decision Making: Ability to make decisions that are guided by precedents, policies and objectives. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments. • Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s).
