Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Sr. / Staff Software Engineer to lead the Data Lakehouse within the Data Platform.

You will own the exabyte-scale data platform and drive cross-functional collaboration across analytics, ML, and product teams. You’ll mentor engineers, design scalable APIs, and partner with security, reliability, and cloud teams to deliver high-quality data services for internal Apple customers. Qualifications

10+ years designing and operating scalable distributed systems.
Proficient in Java or Scala and with Iceberg technology.
Experience with Spark, Kafka, Flink and Kubernetes/AWS EKS.
Strong API design, debugging, and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Build and operate Apple’s largest data platform supporting exabyte scale.
Scale and operationalize the largest multi-tenant, highly secure Data Lakehouse.
Ensure data platform offers reliable high quality data with SLAs, monitoring, and incident response.
Write code, documentation, participate in code reviews, and mentor other engineers.
