Job summary

DeepMind is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Data and Infrastructure in Mountain View. You will help build and operate data pipelines, enable agent testing across 2D/3D environments, and develop visualization tools for benchmarking AI agents.

You will work on systems supporting large language models, with attention to security, access controls, and scalable data storage. Strong Python experience and ML-informed engineering are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in Python with modern toolchains and frameworks (e.g., uv, ruff, FastAPI, Pydantic).
• Experience building and operating data pipelines (e.g., Apache Beam, Dataflow, Flink, Spark).
• Experience with data storage solutions (SQL/Postgres, NoSQL, blob storage, search indexes, vector databases).
• Experience using coding agents to develop code and tests to specification.

Responsibilities

• Develop systems for agent testing using 2D and 3D games.
• Create graphical visualizations of results and competitive agent leaderboards.
• Test new algorithms on robots and maintain code quality across systems.
• Implement access controls across search indexes, databases and storage.
