Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to design, develop, and implement processes for metadata, reference data, and data quality monitoring. You will work on hands-on technical solutions within the Data Governance program and lead moderately complex initiatives, reporting to the Data Governance Manager.

Remote work options exist where approved; travel or onsite interviews may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with data cataloging, data lineage, data classification, reference data management, and business glossary management.
• Experience with system and data integration via API.
• Experience with major Electronic Health Record (EHR) vended solutions and backend data architecture and data modeling.
• Advanced SQL skills and knowledge of database design, ETL, and data mapping.
• Experience with data quality monitoring and data quality improvement.
• Team player with ability to work across all levels of an organization.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and semantic models for enterprise business domains, including entities, relationships, hierarchies, taxonomies, and business rules for operational, analytical, and AI use cases.
• Facilitate discussions to resolve ambiguous business terminology and establish precise, reusable definitions.
• Translate business concepts into computable semantic structures for MDM, analytics, data catalogs, semantic layers, knowledge graphs, and AI solutions.
• Partner with business owners, stewards, architects, and engineering teams to align models with data designs while preserving business meaning.
• Establish and maintain enterprise glossaries, ontologies, taxonomies, and reference-data structures for cross-system consistency.
• Identify authoritative sources, ownership boundaries, survivorship rules, and semantic relationships for critical data assets.
• Conduct domain discovery and business architecture analysis to understand processes, lifecycles, and information requirements.
• Support master data management initiatives by defining governance requirements for MDM design and implementation.
• Define semantic requirements for AI, knowledge-graph, semantic-layer, and agent-enabled solutions to ensure consistent enterprise meaning.
• Develop modeling standards, governance practices, and documentation to keep semantic assets governed and reusable.
