Job summary

JLL Technologies in Chicago is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead multiple scrum teams responsible for Corporate Functions data pipelines, streaming ingestion, and governed data products. You will set the roadmap, guide technical design, and ensure data quality across enterprise reporting and workforce analytics.

You will partner with product, analytics, and business leaders to translate needs into scalable data solutions while growing a high-performing engineering organization

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering with end-to-end project delivery.
• 2+ years of people management of data engineers.
• Advanced Python and SQL; Azure data services; Spark/PySpark.
• Experience designing real-time pipelines with Kafka or Spark Streaming.
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, metadata management.
• Strong communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical direction for batch and streaming pipelines on Azure, Python, Spark.
• Lead real-time data delivery using Kafka and Spark Streaming.
• Own data governance, quality, lineage, and cataloging for Corporate Functions data.
• Set priorities across multiple scrum teams and manage delivery.
• Align with Enterprise Data Platform strategy and modernize data assets.
• Establish CI/CD, observability, and incident management.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, security, governance teams.
• Recruit, coach, and mentor engineers and team leads.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate status and risks.
• Plan headcount, vendor, and cloud cost.
