Senior Data Engineer – Vision-Language Modeling for Radiology
Permanent employee, Full-time · Remote, Munich
Your mission

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team.

You will join an R&D team dedicated to pushing the frontier of multimodal AI, from initial concept to clinical release. Publications and patents are highly encouraged and actively supported.

Your responsibilities
  1. Manage and provide data repositories for ML engineers.

  2. Lead data exploration, curation, and pre-processing efforts.

  3. Build reliable and robust data pipelines in coordination with product managers & ML engineers.

  4. Administration of quality feedback loops and data surveillance (e.g., production case evaluation).

  5. Management of annotation pipelines and platforms to ensure a constant data flow.

  6. Provide well maintained, documented, and testable code, upholding our high quality standards.

  7. Supervise delivery and quality control of data-sets & content, e.g. hold-out, training-data, data-analysis.

What are we looking for?
  1. A degree in a relevant scientific (Medical/Computer Science, Engineering) discipline or equivalent experience in a related field.

  2. Deep knowledge in data engineering toolkits (pandas, airflow, airbyte, dbt).

  3. Experience working with large and uncleaned data.

  4. Proficiency in Python and Docker.

  5. Keen eye for detail and a commitment to scientific accuracy.

  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.

  7. Strong commitment to teamwork and to delivering robust and scalable solutions.

  8. Good-to-have:

    • Experience working with DICOM and/or in the Radiology field is a big plus.

    • Familiarity in working with cloud environments (AWS/GCP).

    • Experience with NoSQL databases.

    • Familiarity with machine learning and computer vision methods.

    • Basic German skills to understand radiology reports.

    • Exposure to MLOps.
