Job summary

Chenega MIOS in Reston, VA seeks a Sr. Data Engineer to design and implement data solutions across cloud and on‑premise systems. You will lead end‑to‑end data engineering activities, drive migration efforts, and ensure secure data handling in DoD environments.

The role requires extensive SQL, RDBMS, and analytics experience, plus hands‑on cloud and DevOps tooling such as AWS GovCloud, Jenkins, and CloudFormation. DoD clearance is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4+ years of experience.
• 8+ years in data migration and related tools.
• 5+ years of RDBMS concepts with strong SQL.
• 5+ years in the data analytics space.
• 2+ years in software engineering topics (APIs, JSON, XML, microservices).
• Active TS/SCI w/ CI Poly.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering activities across the SDLC with documentation.
• Assess feasibility and constraints for data engineering requirements.
• Define data integration, consolidation, and structure strategies.
• Develop data migration approaches from legacy systems.
• Coordinate cross‑system data synchronization and external integrations.
• Ensure data models meet security and DoD data protection standards.
