Job summary

Servco Pacific Inc. in Hawaii seeks a Data Engineer III to lead complex data engineering work for Hawaii Mobility.

You will acquire data from internal systems and external APIs, build and maintain reliable pipelines and data models, and provide trusted data to analytics, applications, and AI. Qualifications

• Education: Degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Work Experience: 7+ years of data engineering experience with strong Python, SQL, integration, orchestration, and data modeling skills.
• Hands-on Azure and Databricks experience, including cloud data pipelines, testing, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code in a production environment.
• Experience with dbt, containers, APIs, event integration, and cloud-native architecture.
• (Preferred) Experience in mobility, distribution, retail, or other vertically integrated operations.
• (Preferred) Skills: Ability to lead technical assignments, communicate tradeoffs, mentor peers, and resolve production incidents.
• Working knowledge of data governance, quality, lineage, privacy, and secure access.
• (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications: Relevant Databricks certification or equivalent demonstrated capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of reliable pipelines and data products.
• Translate business requirements into solution options, dependencies, risks, and delivery plans.
• Lead assigned technical initiatives through implementation, documentation, review, release, and production support.
• Design automated data quality tests, lineage, and validation for AI-ready data.
• Monitor data operations, troubleshoot issues, and participate in on-call coverage.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, code review, and knowledge sharing.
