Job summary

Shopify is seeking a Staff Data Engineer in the United States to architect and optimize data pipelines powering global commerce. You will design scalable streaming models, transform raw data into actionable insights, and collaborate with product teams to ensure data quality across platforms.

You will lead data modeling efforts, work with cloud warehouses on AWS, GCP, or Azure, and contribute to performance-focused infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building streaming or real-time data pipelines, including event-driven architectures and high-throughput data systems.
• Extensive data modeling experience across paradigms and techniques.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in visualization tools.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, and relevant technologies.
• Experience with batch transformation and warehouse layers on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Ability to translate complex information into strategic insights and collaborate with teams.
