Job summary

Deloitte is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer-Senior Consultant to join our Project Delivery talent model. This role focuses on on-site client delivery with limited travel, leveraging AWS, Python, and Spark to design and implement data solutions.

You will translate requirements into scalable data pipelines, integrate third-party products, and ensure production readiness through tests and automation. Strong collaboration with client teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data engineering.
• Proficient in Python and AWS services (Glue, EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, Redshift).
• Strong knowledge of Spark and SQL Server; familiar with PySpark.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases.
• Translate technical specifications into code for moderately complex projects; write programs and tests.
• Migrate code to development, test, and production environments; provide production support.
• Follow software development methodology and architecture standards.
• Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle.
• Understand client business needs and Deloitte’s tools and databases.
• Learn and comply with IT and Information Security policies.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.

Work you'll do/Responsibilities

• Provide senior level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. Integrates third party products and has strong troubleshooting skills.
• Translate technical specifications into code for moderately complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients. Writes programs, develops code, tests artifacts, and produces reports. Employs software development techniques to ensure tests are implemented in a way that support automation.
• Elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents.
• Follow software development methodology. Follows development architecture standards.
• Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues. Participates in systems analysis activities.
• Understand client business functions and technology needs. Understands Vanguard's tools, technologies, and applications/databases, including those that interface with business area and systems.
• Learn and complies with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures.
• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data engineering
• Python AWS development Strong technical acumen in AWS including expert working knowledge of AWS services such as Glue, EC2, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, IAM, Athena , HUE, Presto, S3, AWS Redshift etc.
• Strong technical acumen in Data Engineering enablement, and working knowledge of frameworks/languages such as Python, SPARK etc. Dremio knowledge a plus
• Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, SQL Server
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
• Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
