Job summary

Solvd is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a cross-functional team modernizing a data platform for a global financial services client. You’ll design data models, migrate legacy Oracle-based ETL to Snowflake/dbt, and contribute to architectural decisions alongside client stakeholders.

This delivery-focused role requires hands-on ownership and collaboration with engineering and business teams to implement scalable data solutions using Snowflake, dbt, and Python.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake — data transformation, modeling, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles, data architecture, and scalable data solution design.
• Practical experience with dbt for developing and maintaining data transformation workflows.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering, scripting, and automation.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and modern data pipeline development.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and containerized environments including Kubernetes.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills around data quality, performance, and reconciliation.
• Good communication skills — able to collaborate directly with client stakeholders and participate in regular technical discussions with US-based teams.
• English proficiency sufficient for regular technical discussions with US-based teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize data models and transformation workflows using Snowflake and dbt.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable data architecture covering raw through semantic data layers.
• Support modernization of existing Oracle-based ETL and reporting processes.
• Investigate and address data performance, consistency, and reconciliation challenges.
• Develop and maintain data processing, transformation, and automation solutions using Python.
• Participate in solution design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Support DevOps-related activities including deployment, configuration, and operational aspects of the data platform.
• Take ownership of assigned technical components and deliverables within the team.
• Participate actively in client-facing technical discussions and project meetings.
