Archipelago Companies is hiring a Lead Data Engineer to own our data infrastructure end to end, building pipelines and managing Snowflake across brands. You will define data models, governance, and trust for multiple subsidiaries, acting as the go-to expert for data architecture.

The role requires 5+ years in data engineering, strong Snowflake skills, and a track record of delivering end-to-end data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of senior data engineering experience owning a data platform end to end.
• Deep Snowflake experience: RBAC, Snowpipe, Streams/Tasks.
• Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines from diverse sources.
• Strong SQL and Python for scripting and orchestration.
• Experience designing data warehouse models (dimensional/star) for reporting.
• Excellent communication and ability to be trusted data source across teams.
• Actively seeks AI-enabled tools and emerging tech for productivity and insights.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to Snowflake from Shopify, Google Ads, Analytics, ERP exports, and spreadsheets.
• Own and administer Snowflake environment: architecture, performance tuning, cost management, security, access controls.
• Stand up new Snowflake instances as the organization's data needs grow.
• Build data models supporting reporting across brands and subsidiaries.
• Establish data quality, testing, and monitoring to catch issues before stakeholders see them.
• Partner with marketing, ecom, wholesale, and finance to translate data needs into reliable pipelines.
• Own data governance: naming conventions, access, and documentation of sources and transformations.
• Serve as data architecture and lineage SME.
