Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a closely related role.
• Demonstrated background working with Finance data and stakeholders - GL, budgeting and forecasting, or regulatory reporting.
• Banking/financial services experience with core banking exposure is preferred.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional data initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Design: Design and develop Snowflake-native data systems and architecture, including our medallion architecture.
• Pipeline Engineering: Build ETL/ELT pipelines into Snowflake using Matillion, Snowpipe, Dbt, and related tools.
• Master Data & Governance: Define and manage golden records, data governance, and data quality across systems.
• Semantic Layer: Lead enterprise semantic layer design and implementation for reporting truth.
• Performance Optimization: Tune Snowflake performance and optimize queries and warehouse usage.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Align with Finance, FP&A, Accounting, and Marketing to model KPIs and insights.
• Quality Control & Code Review: Enforce standards, CI/CD, and robust documentation.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve complex data issues across warehouse and reporting stack.
• Observability: Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerts for timeliness and accuracy.
• Governance & Standards: Enforce best practices and regulatory requirements (SOX, GLBA).
• Artificial Intelligence: Support AI initiatives by enabling reliable data foundations and reuse.
• Mentorship: Act as domain expert and mentor other data engineers.

Education
