Job summary

Ally Financial seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and data platforms supporting analytics and AI/ML use cases. Expertise in Snowflake on AWS, Python ETL/ELT, and Control-M is required.

You will collaborate with Data Science, BI, Product, and Platform teams in an Agile environment to deliver reliable data products and governance across pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 9+ years of data engineering experience in enterprise-grade delivery.
• Experience building data pipelines and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines (batch and near real-time).
• Build and optimize Snowflake data models for analytics and downstream use.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows with Python and IBM DataStage.
• Implement job scheduling, monitoring, and SLA management with Control‑M.
• Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and documentation.
• Performance tuning and cost optimization across Snowflake and AWS.
• Partner with Data Science, BI, Product, and Platform teams on data products.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and SDLC/change management.
