Job summary

Astreya is seeking a Data Engineer in Fremont, CA to expand and optimize data pipelines and data flow for cross-functional teams. You will support data analysts and ensure scalable, reliable data delivery across projects.

The role requires strong SQL/NoSQL, SAS, Python, Java, and MatLab skills, with experience in Hadoop ecosystems. Occupants will collaborate with executives, product, and design teams to drive data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5–8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Proficiency in SAS, Python, Java, and MatLab.
• Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing.
• SQL and NoSQL databases experience required.
• Familiarity with Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive and Presto.
• UNIX and Linux operating systems knowledge.
• Good judgment in selecting methods for solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
• Assemble large, complex data sets meeting business requirements.
• Identify and implement internal process improvements for scalability.
• Build infrastructure for ETL from diverse data sources.
• Develop analytics tools for actionable insights on acquisition and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Executive, Product, Data and Design teams on data needs.
• Create data tools to assist analytics production.
• Work with data experts to enhance data system functionality.
