Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and operate massively scalable ETL/ELT pipelines powering a real-time platform across billions of Apple customers.

You will collaborate with ML engineers, data scientists, platform teams, and leadership to translate requirements into scalable data solutions and advance the data stack with governance and deployment standards.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of data engineering experience with large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong data modeling skills, especially dimensional modeling.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/NoSQL databases and data lake architectures.
• Proficiency with Apache Spark, Kafka, and streaming/batch processing.
• Hands-on Python and PySpark development; Scala/Java is a plus.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, EMR, Glue, Redshift) and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting diverse sources.
• Develop Kafka-based ingestion pipelines ensuring reliable data delivery.
• Design scalable logical/physical data models optimized for analytics.
• Define data quality checks, SLAs, and observability standards.
• Enrich raw signals with metadata for analytics and planning use cases.
• Implement data lineage, metadata management, and security per Apple standards.
• Deliver data solutions with logging, anomaly detection, validation, and transformation.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, data scientists, and platform teams.
• Advance data stack tooling, frameworks, and deployment standards.
