Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and operate massively scalable ETL/ELT pipelines turning raw data into a trusted foundation. You will work with ML engineers and data scientists to enable analytics, billing, planning, and optimization across the platform.

The role focuses on data architecture, governance, and high-performance processing in a security-conscious environment, with opportunities to work on multimodal data and embeddings.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree
• 10+ years of data engineering experience with large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines
• Proficiency in data modeling, especially dimensional modeling
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases including Postgres, Cassandra, Redis
• Strong Apache Spark experience
• Experience with distributed processing frameworks (BigTable/Hadoop)
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in Scala, Java
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Iceberg, Flink
• Experience with workflow tools (Airflow, Beam)
• Experience with AWS services (S3, EMR, Lambda, Glue, Redshift)
• Experience with analytics frameworks (Trino/Presto, BigQuery, Snowflake)
• Experience with data lake architectures
• Containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS) and CI/CD (Jenkins)
• Experience in Python and PySpark
• Familiarity with TigerGraph
• Knowledge of data governance and privacy regulations

Responsibilities

• Build batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines for diverse data sources
• Develop and maintain Kafka-based ingestion and processing pipelines
• Design robust data models optimized for analytics and operational use
• Define data quality checks, SLAs, and observability standards
• Integrate and enrich raw signals with metadata for downstream use cases
• Implement data lineage, metadata management, and schema governance
• Deliver logging, anomaly detection, and data validation solutions
• Collaborate with ML engineers, data scientists, and platform teams
• Advance data stack tooling, frameworks, and development standards
