Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Boston seeks a Software Engineer III for Data Engineering and MLOps to design, deploy, and operate agentic AI and ML solutions, building scalable data pipelines and automation for CI/CD, orchestration, and observability. You will bridge data science, software engineering, and production operations to deliver secure, reliable AI/ML systems.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing and operations.
• Proficient in one or more languages: Java, Python, Spark, SQL.
• Experience with cloud technologies, especially AWS.
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML systems and techniques.
• Experience in developing and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid grasp of Agile, CI/CD, resiliency and security.
• Demonstrated knowledge of tech processes across cloud, AI/ML, mobile, etc.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions and builds scalable, reliable systems.
• Designs, builds and operates scalable batch/streaming data pipelines.
• Deploys agentic AI/LLM and ML services and automates training and inference.
• Develops APIs/microservices to expose data and ML capabilities.
• Builds training/serving infrastructure for performance and cost.
• Establishes observability and tracks SLOs for systems.
• Governs data/model lifecycles including registries and canaries.
• Produces production-grade code and maintains core algorithms.
• Gathers insights from large datasets to improve software.
• Contributes to team culture and practice sharing.
