Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Data Science/Data Engineering) to join the application software team, the central nervous system of SpaceX – building mission-critical applications and data systems to support launches, Starlink telemetry, and production workloads.

You will own challenging problems, work with engineers across the company, and contribute to end-to-end data pipelines, ML models, and analytics that help move SpaceX toward ambitious goals at a rapid pace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific field, or 7+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
• 3+ years in data engineering or data science.
• 2+ years applying ML techniques to datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly reliable data analysis libraries, systems, and data pipelines to empower engineers across SpaceX.
• Create new applications that improve how the business at SpaceX operates.
• Collaborate with peers on architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Build prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
• Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
• Deep dive into engineering problems and coordinate with domain experts.
