We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer for Migration & Quality to support a large-scale migration from an Oracle to SQL Server health insurance claims processing platform, as well as the continued expansion of the enterprise data warehouse. This is a 12-month contract position with the potential for a 12-month extension. The role follows a hybrid work schedule, with required in-office work on Mondays and Tuesdays. The primary responsibility of this role will be to migrate reporting logic, data-load processes, and business rules from legacy solutions into the enterprise data warehouse while supporting the organization's transition to the new platform. Many existing reports, extracts, operational processes, and downstream systems currently rely on business logic embedded in legacy-specific fields, configurations, and workflows. As those legacy structures are retired, this role will be responsible for understanding current-state logic, identifying equivalent modern data and business rules, and helping ensure that the enterprise data warehouse becomes the long-term source of truth for reporting and downstream integrations. This individual will work closely with BI/ETL developers, senior engineers, architects, business subject matter experts, and AI-assisted analysis tools to determine how legacy logic should be translated into the future-state warehouse architecture. Success in this role requires the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar data schemas, data models, business rules, and legacy system behaviors. The ideal candidate enjoys investigating complex data discrepancies, tracing logic across multiple systems, reverse-engineering existing processes, and determining how business rules should be implemented in a modern data platform. This is a hands-on analytical, migration, validation, and data-quality role. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills and be comfortable independently working through large, complex relational datasets.
