Job summary

Travelers Data Engineering is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to accelerate our analytics transformation. You will design, build and deploy data pipelines across AWS, Snowflake and Databricks, enabling scalable batch and real-time insights for the enterprise.

You will mentor engineers, establish reusable patterns, and drive SDLC discipline while advocating AI-assisted tooling to improve lead times and data quality across cloud and on-premises environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM related field or equivalent.
• Ten years of related experience building, designing and operating data pipelines at scale.
• Experience architecting data solutions using AWS, Databricks, Snowflake and AbInitio or similar platforms.
• Leadership in mentoring and guiding the data engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production data pipelines across AWS, Snowflake, Databricks for batch and near real-time analytics.
• Establish reusable patterns and frameworks to reduce duplicated effort.
• Drive down lead time from commit to production and promote SDLC discipline.
• Integrate AI coding tools into daily workflow to accelerate scaffolding and testing.
• Measure impact of AI tooling and share results to drive adoption.
• Mentor engineers and set technical standards for data governance.
