Apple Services Engineering in Cupertino, CA is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to own a data lakehouse that transforms device and compute events into trusted, fast-to-query tables. You will build and operate Spark pipelines, design analytics tables for Trino, and implement data quality checks to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional data engineering experience building production data pipelines at scale.
• Production experience with Apache Spark including batch and streaming using Structured Streaming.
• Strong data modeling skills, including analytics schemas on Apache Iceberg or similar lakehouse formats.
• Proficiency in Java or Scala and strong SQL.
• Experience building data quality checks and monitoring for production pipelines.
• Productive use of AI coding tools in real delivery with validation discipline.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the data lakehouse transforming raw device and compute events into trusted tables.
• Build and operate Spark pipelines for ingestion and transformation of datasets downstream.
• Design analytics tables queried via Trino focusing on performance and usability.
