Job summary

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead large-scale data migration and engineering initiatives for a federal program. This fully remote, full-time role focuses on transitioning from legacy systems to modern platforms while meeting strict government timelines and compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate has extensive data engineering and data architecture experience, expertise with Informatica and SQL, and proven ability to work under contractual deadlines

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering and data architecture experience.
• Expert knowledge of Informatica and relational databases.
• Certification in a relational database technology such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong experience with complex and nested SQL queries.
• Familiarity with AWS and enterprise platforms such as Java, Pega, Salesforce, or MuleSoft.
• Proven experience in IT management or senior-level contractor roles.
• Strong understanding of software development processes, standards, and best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with ETL development, data cleansing, and performance optimization.
• Strong analytical skills, including statistical analysis and technical documentation.
• Ability to work within strict contractual deadlines and deliverables.
• Active IRS MBI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred.
