Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Specialist. You will design and build data pipelines, data integration workflows, and reporting systems to support analytics and business initiatives.

You’ll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to optimize data flows, ensure data quality, and enable scalable analytics across the organization. The role requires strong SQL, Python, and data modeling skills, with experience in ETL/ELT and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering or equivalent STEM major.
• 5+ years of experience with large data processing and transformations.
• Experience with SQL queries (PROC SQL/PLSQL a plus).
• Experience with Python and/or R for data manipulation.
• Experience building ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines.
• Experience creating dashboards and reporting with Power BI/Tableau/SAS Viya/Palantir Foundry.
• Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and data quality.
• Experience with enterprise platforms like Snowflake, SAP HANA, Palantir Foundry, Oracle, GCP.

Responsibilities

• Optimizes performance and scalability of data pipelines.
• Develops reusable pipeline components and supports Data Scientists.
• Designs ETL architectures for big data to support business initiatives.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to elicit requirements and improvements.
• Troubleshoots production pipelines and ensures data integrity.
• Contributes to data dictionaries and data mapping from sources to targets.
