SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer in Ground Network Engineering to define KPIs, analyze cost data, and build forecasting for the Starlink Ground Network. You will partner with engineering and analytics teams to drive data-driven decisions that optimize expenditure and performance across global assets.

The role emphasizes backend data systems, cost forecasting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to scale data infrastructure and insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in reporting and analytics in network infrastructure.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop KPIs and associated metrics quantifying the cost of Starlink Ground Network assets globally.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses of Starlink ground infrastructure data to identify trends and opportunities to reduce cost.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing findings and insights; track effectiveness of strategies.
• Build and maintain forecasting engines to predict Ground Network costs.
• Support cost analysis for launches of future markets.
• Refactor and scale data ingestion and delivery for geographic expansion.
• Maintain integrity and reliability of internal and external data sources; collaborate with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with software engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Architect backend services, APIs, and workflows to integrate planning, forecasting, deployments, and cost.
