Astyra Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a hands-on team building a data reconciliation solution for a large-scale modernization initiative. Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong hands-on data engineering background and Python development.
• Experience building solutions using Generative AI.
• Hands-on experience with LangGraph or similar agentic AI frameworks.
• Experience consuming MCP services and working with MCP.
• Experience with data comparison, reconciliation, or data validation.
• Proficient in CI/CD environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a data reconciliation utility that compares data across legacy and modernized platforms.
• Build solutions to identify data discrepancies, patterns, anomalies, and nuanced differences across large datasets.
• Apply Generative AI, pattern matching, regex, and other techniques to improve data comparison and reconciliation.
• Develop hands-on solutions using Python and modern Generative AI frameworks.
• Integrate with and consume services through Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Build agentic or workflow-based solutions using LangGraph.
• Partner closely with senior engineers and architects to design and accelerate development of the reconciliation platform.
• Develop scalable, maintainable data engineering solutions supporting broader modernization initiatives.
• Participate in data validation, testing, troubleshooting, and production implementation.
• Contribute to broader data engineering initiatives as the reconciliation solution matures.

Astyra's client is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with strong Generative AI experience to help build a data reconciliation solution supporting a large-scale technology modernization initiative. This role will combine traditional data engineering with modern AI capabilities to identify, analyze, and reconcile data differences between legacy and modernized platforms.

The ideal candidate is a strong data engineer who has expanded into Generative AI and has hands‑on experience building production solutions using Python, LangGraph, MCP, and related AI technologies.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop a data reconciliation utility that compares data across legacy and modernized platforms
• Build solutions to identify data discrepancies, patterns, anomalies, and nuanced differences across large datasets
• Apply Generative AI, pattern matching, regex, and other techniques to improve data comparison and reconciliation
• Develop hands‑on solutions using Python and modern Generative AI frameworks
• Integrate with and consume services through Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Build agentic or workflow‑based solutions using LangGraph

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Strong hands‑on data engineering background
• Demonstrated experience building solutions using Generative AI
• Strong Python development skills
• Hands‑on experience with LangGraph or similar agentic AI frameworks
• Experience working with Model Context Protocol (MCP), including consuming MCP services
• Experience developing solutions involving data comparison, reconciliation, pattern detection, or data validation
• Strong understanding of data processing and transformation concepts
• Experience developing production‑quality solutions within modern CI/CD environments
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a hands‑on engineering role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large‑scale technology or data modernization initiatives
• Experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments
• Experience developing AI‑enabled data engineering utilities or automation solutions
• Familiarity with Spark or other distributed data‑processing technologies
• Previous experience within a large enterprise engineering environment
