Job summary

TEKsystems is hiring a senior data engineering lead in a hybrid role based in Madison, WI. You will mentor a 15-person team, oversee data pipelines, ensure data quality and security, and collaborate with architecture and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years of data engineering experience, expert GCP/SQL/Python skills, and a track record of delivering data-driven solutions. This is a contract position with potential conversion to full-time.

Qualifications

• Senior position with 8–10 years of experience.
• Expert knowledge on GCP, SQL and Python is a must.
• Working on new AI, Sales, Marketing and Customer Analytics projects; business-facing.

Responsibilities

• Mentor an engineering team to meet project deadlines and priorities.
• Supervise assigned data engineering team members & activities.
• Ensure data quality, completeness, security, privacy, and integrity of data throughout the data lifecycle.
• Document critical workflows and operational support aspects of team’s responsibilities.
• Develop a deep understanding of data sources, granularity, availability, and limitations.
• Provide proactive technical oversight and advice to application architecture and development teams.
• Create maintainable, scalable code to load and manipulate data in the data warehouse.
• Facilitate communication with business stakeholders and project teams.
• Backfill position; 70–75% development; 30% mentoring.
