Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer in Fremont, CA to design and implement automated data solutions for Finance and Accounting. You will build ETL pipelines and data models, enabling analytics and reporting across business teams.

With 5+ years of experience, you will collaborate with both business and technical teams, optimize data flows, and drive end-to-end data projects in a contract-to-hire arrangement.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills and relational DB expertise (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Vertica, etc.).
• Data warehousing and data modeling experience, large-scale data.
• Programming in Python or Java.
• Open-source distributed systems (Kafka, Spark).
• ETL pipelines and tools (SSIS, Informatica, Airflow, Luigi).
• OLAP databases/tools (SSAS, Hyperion, Cognos).
• Reporting/visualization (SSRS, PowerBI, Tableau, Looker).
• Excellent communication with technical and business teams.
• Accounting/Finance domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated data solutions for Finance/Accounting teams.
• Own projects from design to production with stakeholders.
• Write and optimize scripts and jobs for analytics and reporting.
• Build scalable ETL pipelines from multiple sources to data warehouse.
• Refine data models using star schema and best practices.
• Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Stay updated on data engineering trends and new tools.
• Collaborate with audit/compliance for SOX alignment.
• Lead by example with coding standards and docs.
