Job summary

Illumio in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to own and expand Fabric-powered analytics and Power BI reporting. You will build, test, and run enterprise data pipelines, semantic models, and dashboards across Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, and Engineering.

The role requires 6+ years in data engineering or BI, strong SQL/Python/PySpark, and hands-on Fabric/Power BI expertise.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI development, or a related enterprise data role.
• Strong SQL, Python, PySpark and hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines, transformations, validations, semantic models, and production reporting.
• Working knowledge of Fabric and Power BI security, permissions, workspace design, and deployment practices.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft AI ecosystem and Fabric Data Agent architecture, design and solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, data-flow analysis, documentation, testing, and production-support skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, governed, secure, and supportable analytics solutions.
• Effective collaboration across distributed teams.
• Preferred: Azure data services, PowerBI, Microsoft AI ecosystem, DevOps, APIs, data governance, and AI-ready analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own and support Fabric AI initiatives in support of organization-wide projects using our Fabric Data Warehouse. Manage data pipelines, analytics ops, and governance.
• Design, build, test, maintain, and monitor Fabric Data Agents for AI initiatives.
• Develop and manage Fabric data pipelines, transformations, semantic models, and Power BI solutions.
• Triage pipeline failures, defects, refresh issues, access problems, and data-quality incidents.
• Migrate dashboards and datasets into governed Fabric and Power BI solutions.
• Build reports and validate measures across dashboards and source systems.
• Administer workspaces, permissions, deployment processes, service principals, and lifecycle controls.
• Collaborate with business functions on requirements, data mapping, testing, and adoption.
• Contribute to Analytics Center of Excellence standards and cataloging.
