Job summary

Heartland Technology Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver BI data solutions. The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and optimized SQL data structures to support reporting and analytics for client environments.

You will work with BI developers, ensure data integrity, and mentor peers while pursuing aggressive billable goals in a dynamic team setting.

Qualifications

7+ years in technology-related role.
Data Model Design (physical or conceptual).
Experience with needs analysis, software evaluation, customization, and implementation.
Data Warehousing systems and architecture experience in real-world deployments.
Understand multi-dimensional/relational database structures and schemas.
Strong knowledge of system design, development, and deployment.
Microsoft BI Suite experience (Excel, SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
Programming and processing experience (T-SQL, ETL).
Azure experience (Azure SQL Database or Azure SQL Manage).
Strong SQL knowledge using MS SQL Server.

Responsibilities

Meet with clients to understand current business processes and needs, delivering consulting on data strategy.
Collaborate with BI Data Developers to ensure requirements are met.
Estimate development effort for customer data needs and requests.
Develop and design processes for customer data collection and data analysis.
Review data sources to ensure integrity of data collection.
Mentor other engineers on scalable, secure BI and data solutions.
Meet annual billable hour goals as defined by the firm.
