Job summary

AQEMIA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the data platform end to end—from ingestion through the pipeline to trusted, model-ready datasets powering science, ML and analytics. You will model canonical entities, establish provenance and trustworthy lineage across heterogeneous sources so researchers and AI agents can rely on them.

You will collaborate with ML engineers, data scientists and researchers to build curated datasets and expand self-service data capabilities, APIs and governance

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong software and data engineering skills with data modeling and relational databases.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with production-grade data systems.
• Hands-on experience with dbt, Airflow or similar data stack tooling.
• Any STEM degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own AQEMIA's data pipelines end to end from ingestion through delivery with lineage.
• Model canonical scientific entities and establish provenance and trustworthy lineage.
• Set data quality standards with monitoring, validation, testing and alerting.
• Partner with ML engineers and scientists to build curated model-ready datasets.
• Drive data architecture, testing, documentation and deployment with the team.
• Build self-service capabilities and APIs for automated data consumption.
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold code quality through reviews.
