Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines powering analytical capabilities. You will build and optimize data models and ETL/ELT processes across multi-source datasets for analytics and ML workloads.

You will collaborate with data scientists and analysts, implementing data governance, security, and documentation to enable scalable BI and AI initiatives. This is a full-time role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in SQL and the ability to write complex queries.
• Experience with Python for ETL pipelines.
• Experience deploying data pipelines in cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Knowledge of data governance and security best practices in the cloud.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with data scientists, analysts and product owners.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling & Architecture: develop and optimize data models and schemas to support analytics, reporting, and ML requirements.
• Data Pipeline Development: design and build ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large datasets from multiple sources.
• Performance Optimization: tune performance with partitioning and clustering to reduce costs and speed queries.
• Data Quality & Governance: establish data quality standards and governance and security policies for data storage and access.
• Data Integration & Transformation: collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design data solutions for BI and ML use cases.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: create documentation for pipelines and processes and mentor junior engineers.
• Design and architect data infrastructure for analytical workloads; understand data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
