Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Senior Data Engineer - DeFi. This is a fully remote US-based role.

We power one of DeFi’s largest RFQ liquidity sources, facilitating over $20 billion in volume through professional market makers to ensure guaranteed pricing and protection against MEV exploits. With a mission to build the best trading experience, we've evolved from a decentralized exchange into a benchmark for trust across the exchange ecosystem. Role Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to build and optimize the data infrastructure behind our liquidity engine. This role combines the deep analysis traditionally associated with data analytics and the technical rigor of backend engineering. You’ll help drive strategic decisions by developing data pipelines, evaluating RFQ performance, optimizing liquidity provisioning, and supporting external integrations with professional market makers and taker venues.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Infrastructure

• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for on-chain and off-chain data ingestion.
• Develop scalable systems to power RFQ performance reporting and liquidity profiling.
• Own Metabase dashboards, Dune dashboards, and custom reporting infrastructure.
• Work across a tech stack that includes PostgreSQL, Python, NodeJS, Apache Hive, and Spark.

RFQ Performance & Liquidity Optimization

• Profile demand across decentralized venues (e.g., DEX aggregators, intent aggregators).
• Evaluate the quality and competitiveness of our RFQ integrations on both Maker and Taker venues.
• Optimize maker liquidity strategies and RFQ fees to improve competitiveness and capture.
• Build automated, continuous reports for maker performance and liquidity utilization.

Analysis & Insights

• Analyze pricing, volume, quote responsiveness, and slippage to maintain our market edge.
• Provide actionable insights to internal stakeholders and external market makers.
• Collaborate with product and strategy teams to align liquidity with protocol and partner goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with market makers, engineers, and BD teams to ensure aligned data workflows and visibility.
• Partner with both internal and external teams to improve overall system performance.

Requirements

• 4+ years in data engineering, data infrastructure, or analytics engineering.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and Python; experience with NodeJS scripting is a plus.
• Proficiency in dashboarding and visualization tools such as Metabase, Dune, or similar.
• Understanding of DeFi ecosystems and blockchain fundamentals. Experience in DeFi analytics, DEX aggregators, or working with intent-based protocols is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Hive, or other large-scale data processing tools.
