About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing data team supporting large‑scale pharma and life sciences initiatives. This role will focus on building and optimising modern data platforms using Azure Databricks and graph database technologies, helping deliver scalable and insight‑driven solutions across complex scientific and business datasets.

You’ll work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to design high‑quality data pipelines and support advanced analytics use cases within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Databricks

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks
• Build and optimise transformations using PySpark and SQL
• Support development of curated and trusted data layers
• Work with large and complex datasets in cloud‑based environments
• Ensure data quality, governance, and traceability across platforms

Graph Databases & Data Modelling

• Work with graph database technologies to model highly connected datasets
• Support relationship‑driven analytics and querying
• Design efficient and scalable data structures for complex business domains
• Collaborate on data architecture and modelling best practices

Collaboration & Delivery

• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements
• Translate business needs into scalable engineering solutions
• Contribute to agile ceremonies, sprint delivery, and technical documentation
• Share knowledge and engineering best practices across the wider team

Skills Required

• Strong experience with Azure Databricks
• Solid hands‑on experience with PySpark and SQL

• Strong understanding of modern data engineering principles and cloud platforms

• Experience within the pharma or life sciences domain
