Jump Trading Group in New York, NY is seeking an experienced software engineer to advance the Core Data team's reference data and security master systems. You will own data models, validate datasets, and collaborate with traders and researchers to deliver data for research and trading workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with Python.
• 5+ years working on reference data or security master systems in an engineering capacity.
• Familiarity with reference data used in security masters (identifiers, corporate actions, exchange data).
• Strong understanding of fundamental datasets and market data including index and exchange data.
• Experience with data modeling in modern quant/prop shops.
• Strong unit-testing / test-driven coding style.
• Experience in Linux environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in high-frequency trading environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Dig into technical details and implement streamlined data solutions for end-users.
• Provide scalable, centralized, validated data representations for consumers.
• Review datasets using vendor docs and liaise with vendors as needed.
• Anticipate data behavior and implement controls to identify and resolve issues daily.
• Own and evolve instrument and security master reference data.
• Design and maintain data models for core reference and market datasets.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers and traders to deliver core data for research and trading.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship for data quality and system design.
