Job description

This role is with a DeWinter Educational Technology Partner

100% Remote

3 Month + contract

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience implementing and optimizing AWS Redshift data lakes and AWS Aurora Postgres RDBMS. You should be able to discuss real-world challenges in performance, scalability, security, and cost, along with the solutions you’ve implemented in past roles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize AWS-based RDBMS, data lakes, and data pipelines
• Improve SaaS application queries and advise developers
• Analyze cloud costs and identify savings opportunities
• Implement observability strategies for reliability

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong background in AWS-based data technologies (Aurora Postgres, Redshift, SQS, Firehose)
• SQL query tuning & optimization (Postgres experience preferred)
• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, scripting)
• AWS services knowledge (VPC, EC2, Lambda, IAM, S3)
• Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana preferred)
