Job summary

myPOS is expanding its data platform and seeks a Senior Data Engineer (B2B Contractor) to design, build and operate scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure. You’ll ensure data quality, enable analytics, and partner with data scientists across the company.

We value 6+ years in data engineering, strong Python/SQL, cloud experience (GCP/AWS/Azure), and hands-on orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster, with a focus on reliable, compliant data workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer building production-grade pipelines.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with data structures, performance, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration and distributed processing in a cloud environment.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT patterns, and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Familiarity with DataOps and data governance concepts.
• Collaborative communication across engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and export across sources and destinations.
• Develop scalable data architecture to meet performance and business needs.
• Partner with analysts and data scientists to deliver curated, analysis-ready datasets.
• Implement data quality, testing, monitoring, lineage, and reliability best practices.
• Optimize workflows for performance, cost, and scalability (e.g., Spark tuning, partitioning).
• Ensure secure data handling and compliance with data protection standards.
• Contribute to documentation, standards, and continuous improvement of the data platform.
• Maintain data governance: access controls, auditability and governance practices.
• Build and maintain MLOps automation: CI/CD for ML, environments, versioning of data/models/code.
