Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Lead Data Engineer to join a high-performing agile team supporting a prominent investment management organization. You will design, build, and deliver scalable data solutions for trading platforms, reporting systems, and investment operations.

The role emphasizes cloud technologies, ETL/ELT pipelines, data governance, and CI/CD, with strong SQL, Snowflake, and AWS experience. Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
7+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
Strong SQL, Snowflake and data warehousing expertise.
Experience with AWS cloud services.
Strong Python for data processing and ETL.
Familiarity with GitHub or Bitbucket.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
Nice to have Power BI or similar BI tools.
Skills in API development and integration.
Familiarity with investment or financial services data.
Experience supporting trading and reporting platforms.
Exposure to AWS Glue, Athena, Lambda, S3, REST APIs, and SnapLogic.
Experience working within scaled Agile frameworks.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data integration and data warehousing solutions.
Collaborate with Product Owners and Engineers to refine requirements.
Translate user stories into robust data solutions using cloud technologies.
Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for financial data.
Build SQL objects like views, procedures, and functions.
Establish data integration workflows across platforms.
Contribute to architecture and design discussions.
Uphold data quality, security, and governance standards.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and stakeholder reviews.
Present completed solutions and business value to stakeholders.
Support CI/CD implementations and deployment practices.
Mentor team members and promote best practices.
