Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a senior Data Engineer to lead end-to-end delivery of complex data‑driven solutions across cloud platforms. You will partner with design leads, architects, PMs and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data products.

The role emphasizes DataOps, CI/CD and secure, compliant architectures in regulated environments, with a focus on collaboration and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum 7 years of data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL and automation/pipeline optimization experience.
• Experience with Azure cloud services (ADLS, Synapse, Data Factory).
• Hands-on with Snowflake, Databricks and orchestration tools (Airflow/Tidal).
• Solid data modeling, integration, architecture, quality and warehousing knowledge.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and DataOps practices.
• Knowledge of security, privacy and compliance in regulated environments.
• Ability to lead technically without formal people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex data engineering solutions across cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with Solution Design Leads, Architects, PMs and stakeholders.
• Translate designs and business requirements into scalable data products.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines, IaC and DataOps across data platforms.
