Gordon Food Service is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to guide the development of the Data Platform, including the data lake, analytics sandboxes, and certified data products. You will translate big data challenges into actionable technical approaches and mentor junior developers.

The role requires 8+ years of data engineering experience, strong design and delivery skills, and deep knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred). Hybrid work in the US with some in-office collaboration is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, analytics, statistics or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in data engineering design, development and delivery.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.

• Define the technical strategy and direction for the Data Platform.
• Guide scrum master/product owner on priority and effort for features.
• Mentor team members in tool usage and processes.
• Design and build solutions across multiple initiatives.
• Automate data engineering tasks and build monitoring/alerts.
• Collaborate to architect and implement technical solutions.
• Translate analytics problems into actionable technical solutions.
• Document designs for long-term sustainability and transfer of knowledge.
• Help build a high-performing data engineering team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
