Job summary

Compunnel Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that support analytics and business operations in a modern cloud environment.

You will build data pipelines, optimize SQL/PLSQL, and work with relational and NoSQL databases while applying ETL/ELT practices in an Agile team. You will use Python, Java, and Unix scripting, collaborate with global teams, and contribute to DevOps/CI/CD with Git, Maven, Jenkins, and cloud services such as AWS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/CE or related field.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL development and debugging.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Elasticsearch).
• Experience with Python, Java, or Unix scripting.
• DevOps/CI/CD tools such as Git, Maven, Jenkins.
• Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS).
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data processing solutions.
• Develop and optimize SQL/PLSQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to manage and process large datasets.
• Implement and maintain ETL/ELT processes and data models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams in an Agile environment.
• Develop and maintain code using Python, Java, or Unix scripting.
• Support DevOps and CI/CD processes using Git, Maven, Jenkins, or similar.
• Work with cloud services to build scalable and reliable data solutions.
• Monitor, validate, and troubleshoot issues across dev, test, and prod environments.
• Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to improve data engineering capabilities.
