Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in the United States seeks a Senior Data Engineer to deliver scalable data products and enable data-driven decisions. You will design, build, and support core data platform systems, collaborating with business partners and the Data Platform team to create pipelines, governance solutions, and self-service tools.

The role requires 5–8+ years in data engineering, strong SQL and Python, experience with Databricks, Spark, and CI/CD, and a passion for mentoring others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
• 5 to 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related technical field.
• Expertise in SQL and Python.
• Extensive experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, Unity Catalog, Jobs, Workflows).
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing at scale.
• Strong knowledge of version control, CI/CD, and data governance.
• Ability to lead cross-functional engineering initiatives and influence roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines from APIs, databases, files, and streams.
• Lead technical design reviews and translate business needs into enterprise data solutions.
• Develop and optimize data models (dimensional, data vault, canonical models) for analytics.
• Champion SDLC best practices, CD/CI, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Mentor Data Engineers and review code to raise engineering maturity.
• Collaborate with Architects, Data Leads, and Product Owners on long-term data strategies.
• Perform root-cause analysis for major data incidents and drive remediation.
