Job summary

Applied Systems India Pvt Ltd is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data solutions using BigQuery. You will collaborate with Data Scientists and Software Engineers to model, maintain, and scale data across multiple environments and locales, including the US and Canada.

The role emphasizes data governance, security, and scalable analytics. Required are 6–9 years of experience, advanced SQL and Python, and strong cloud data warehouse expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or related field.
• 6-9 years designing, building, maintaining cloud data solutions.
• Proven BigQuery & cloud data warehousing experience.
• Experience with BigQuery, GCP services and multi-tenant schemas.
• Advanced SQL and Python, scalable data solutions.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to communicate with global teams; prioritize and deliver on time.
• Nice to have Looker/LookML or similar BI tooling; AI-assisted tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain BigQuery tables, views, and procedures.
• Create scalable data models to support reporting and analytics.
• Apply best practices for data quality, governance, and performance.
• Own deployment manifests and multi-environment rollouts (GitLab CI/CD).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
• Use Git for code management (SQL, LookML, YAML).
• Contribute to AI-enabled initiatives to improve productivity and quality.
• Lead complex initiatives and coordinate delivery across stakeholders.
