Job summary

Nike Beaverton is seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer 5 to design and implement data products within an agile team. You will contribute to the architecture for processing large data volumes and help evaluate new technologies in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong Python/Scala programming, experience with Hadoop/Spark/Hive, and proficiency in SQL and Airflow, with collaboration across product owners and data analysts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in large-scale software development; 5+ years in big data.
• Programming with Python or Scala; experience with Hadoop/Spark/Hive.
• Experience with messaging/streaming tooling and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with Airflow, GitHub/Bitbucket, and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and implement data products with product owners and data analysts.
• Help shape architecture and patterns for large-volume data processing.
• Evaluate new technologies and frameworks for big data use cases.
• Translate backlog items into engineering work units.
• Build distributed data processing pipelines and data flow utilities.
• Ensure code quality with unit tests and integration tests.
• Advance CI/CD practices and troubleshoot data issues across teams.
