Job summary

MetLife is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to troubleshoot applications and drive design and delivery across multiple domains within our Data & Analytics organization. You will shape our enterprise data landscape with deep expertise in Hadoop and Azure-based platforms, building scalable, compliant data solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of data engineering, strong SQL and Scala, and a track record of leading technical teams in Agile environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or 4-year college degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field required.
5+ years of experience in data engineering.
Azure Data Factory, Azure functions, Databricks, Cosmos DB, Synapse familiarity.
Strong SQL knowledge and coding skills in Scala or equivalent.
Familiar with Agile Scrum SDLC and leading technical teams.

Responsibilities

Lead to provide systems analysis, troubleshooting, technical/data design, coding, unit testing, and end-to-end data solutions.
Lend oversight, enforce guidelines, and support teams in designing end-to-end solutions.
Demonstrate expertise in Big Data technologies including Azure Cloud and Hadoop framework.
