Job summary

Stelvio Inc. in Plano, TX seeks an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design and optimize a modern Azure data platform.

You will build scalable ETL pipelines, implement medallion architecture, and ensure data quality and governance for high-volume datasets to support analytics and business decisions. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and cloud teams, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to security standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• 3+ years with Azure Databricks and Spark/PySpark.
• Strong expertise in Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and SQL warehousing.
• Hands-on experience with ADLS Gen2, Event Hub, Data Factory, Key Vault, and Synapse.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure Databricks.
• Build data ingestion workflows from Event Hub, APIs, and storage.
• Develop Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers in medallion architecture.
• Implement Delta Lake governance, schema evolution, and versioning.
• Tune large pipelines for performance and cost; configure Spark.
• Integrate Databricks with ADLS Gen2, Data Factory, Synapse, Event Hub, and Key Vault.
• Enforce secure data access with RBAC and data masking.
• Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to deliver trusted data and KPIs.
• Provide technical guidance and code reviews; mentor junior engineers.
• Support security and privacy requirements with architecture and security teams.
• Set up data quality checks, lineage tracking, and observability tooling.
