Job summary

Megazone Cloud is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead data platforms on AWS, building scalable pipelines and defining data strategy. You’ll own architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to deliver impactful data solutions.

Proficiency in Python and SQL, plus Databricks or Snowflake, is essential to drive our data initiatives and shape the technical roadmap in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Deep, expert-level proficiency with Python.
• Deep, expert-level proficiency with SQL.
• Hands-on, expert-level experience with Databricks OR Snowflake (certifications or experience with both is a huge plus).
• Expert-level experience building and managing data solutions on AWS.
• Deep expertise in designing and architecting scalable data platforms.
• Proven ability to lead complex, ambiguous projects from conception to delivery.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and helping to level up the team.
• A “builder” mindset, a startup mentality, and a genuine thirst for knowledge.
• Exceptional communication skills and the flexibility to think fast.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and lead: Architect and own scalable, high-performance data platforms and pipelines on AWS, not just maintain them.
• Define the data ecosystem: Drive the strategy for our data environment, leveraging Databricks and/or Snowflake to create powerful, efficient data models.
• Write and review critical code: Develop clean, optimized, and automated solutions using Python and SQL. Set the standard for code quality and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate and multiply: Act as a key “force multiplier” within our cross-functional teams, leading ambiguous projects from conception to delivery.
• Be a flexible leader: Embrace a “builder” mentality. In a startup, you’ll have the flexibility to solve diverse challenges, and your voice will be critical in shaping our technical roadmap.
