Job summary

Genesis10 is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer and Analyst for a hybrid 18+ month contract with a Global Financial Institution. The candidate will build data pipelines and analyze large datasets using Python, Java, OpenShift, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities include profiling data, creating pipelines, writing complex SQL, and applying GenAI techniques. Strong SDLC discipline and CI/CD practices are required.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of combined data engineering/analysis experience.
• Expert Python skills for data engineering & analysis (pandas, PySpark or similar).
• Advanced SQL skills with large datasets and performance tuning.
• Java experience for service implementations and SDLC discipline.
• Experience with data lake/warehouse concepts and semi-structured data.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle data problem solving: profile large datasets, design pipelines, engineer transformations, and perform deep analysis.
• Implement production-grade code in Python and Java with testing and observability.
• Write advanced SQL for data exploration and performance-tuned analytics across data lakes/warehouses.
• Parse, normalize, and analyze XML payment objects, apply deduplication strategies and generate test cases.
• Apply LLM-powered techniques to accelerate data triage, test generation, and anomaly detection with guardrails.
• Apply ML knowledge to large-scale data problems and set engineering standards for CI/CD and code reviews.
